Lessons and Progression
One on one coaching
One on one ski coaching built around your goals, for every ability level.
Private lessons offer one on one coaching with the highest level of personalized instruction. Your instructor customizes the lesson around your goals, or your private group’s goals.
Space is limited and at least a 48 hour advanced booking is required for all private lessons.
Age group policy. A private lesson booked for someone age 6 to 14 may only include additional participants ages 6 to 14. A private lesson booked for someone age 15 and older may only include additional participants age 15 and older.

A two hour private lesson for ages 6 and up, including adults, who have never skied, have skied fewer than four times, or have not skied in many years.
This lesson will begin on the magic carpet beginner areas and progress to our beginner chairlift and learning slope.

A two hour private lesson for ages 6 and up, including adults, who are low intermediate to intermediate skiers. You should already ride the chairlift and ski green trails and some blues.
In this lesson you will be coached using the Primary Movements Teaching System to build more balance & confidence in your skiing so you can progress into carving parallel turns on steeper terrain.

One on one coaching with one of the most experienced, blue accredited PMTS coaches at Welch Village. This is the premium private lesson experience and must be booked in advance.
This lesson is a good fit for skiers who can ski blue and black runs at Welch Village. Level 3 private lessons include video analysis of your skiing including a video review with your coach at the end of the lesson. Level 3 private lessons include 3 hours on snow and a 30 minute video review.

The newest addition to the signature Carvers ski instruction program. A 90 minute single day lesson for skiers aged 4 to 5 at the date of the lesson.
Students must have previously taken a Learn to Ski lesson for ages 4 to 8 at Welch Village before registering.
The lesson will start in the magic carpet area where students will focus on basic movements to make turns and control speed with a goal to ride the chairlift and continue on the beginner slope. Chairlift use is based on student willingness, performance and instructor discretion. Each student will have their own PMTS trained ski instructor for the lesson.
