One day programs
Four one-day ski programs, from a first time on snow through linking parallel turns. Small groups, real coaching, and a plan for the next run.
Welch Village is the only licensed PMTS Direct Parallel® ski school in the country. PMTS Direct Parallel® is unique – it’s a complete modern teaching system that does not use the wedge or “snow plow.” All movements taught in our system utilize modern ski design and create and maintain balance. The system teaches expert skiing movements to all ability levels using Student Centered Ski Instruction™ which uses a student’s needs and motivations to design a learning environment. Note: All of our ski lessons utilize poles in the lesson. Please make sure you arrive to the lesson with poles.

All ski programs are taught on the PMTS Direct Parallel system. Welch Village is the only licensed PMTS Direct Parallel ski school in the country, so the wedge, or snow plow, is skipped entirely.

A one hour lesson for children ages 4 to 8 who are complete beginners. The full package is the only option for this age group, so the lift ticket and rental equipment are already covered.
There is no option to “split up” the price to remove the rental equipment (if someone has their own) to make sure that’s clear.
The lesson will take place at our magic carpet beginner area only. Students are not taken on the chairlift during the lesson.

Complete beginner
A two hour lesson for ages 8 and up, including adults, who have never skied or have skied four times or less. You learn on the magic carpet beginner area, and some students ride the chairlift based on progress and at the instructor’s discretion.

A two hour lesson for children ages 6 to 13 who have skied four or more times and are moving from the wedge to parallel turns.
Students must be able to ride the chairlift unassisted and ski beginner level terrain (green) slopes with speed control and turns.

Check in one hour before your lesson at the Lesson Window in the Main Chalet. That gives you time to park, pick up rentals and get boots on without rushing. Lessons start on time whether or not everyone is ready.
Rental equipment is included in the ages 4 to 8 full package. For the other programs it is purchased separately and can be added when you book. Reserve rentals at the same time as the lesson, because the rental shop prioritises reserved gear on busy weekends.
All advanced program purchases are final and cannot be cancelled, refunded or transferred to another day, regardless of use or redemption. Snow conditions, weather, open terrain and the number of lifts operating are not guaranteed.
