Guest Services

Everything you need to know before your visit, in the order you will need it. First time on snow? Start with the First Timer’s Guide instead.

Lift Tickets & Season Passes

Lift tickets must be purchased online in advance. They are not available at the window, and sales can be limited during certain periods.

Season passes are purchased online. Buy your pass by the end of October with a photo uploaded to your guest record and your card is mailed to you. Miss that deadline, or skip the photo, and you pick your card up at the Main Chalet ticket windows on your first visit. Picking up before 1:00pm on a weekend or holiday can mean a long wait.

All season pass holders present their pass card every time they ski or ride, at the outdoor ticket windows at the Main Chalet or at Jaxx during operating hours, and receive that day’s lift ticket to wear. On weekends and holidays we usually reserve a window for pass holders only.

Rental Equipment

Standard ski package rentals must be purchased online in advance. Snowboard rentals (package, board only and boots only), standard skis only and performance skis are purchased in person at the Main Chalet ticket windows, first come, first served.

Cashless Operations

Since November 2023 the resort has been cashless. Swipe, insert or tap your credit card, debit card or smart device with Apple Pay or Google Pay anywhere you would normally use cash. E-gift cards are available online and provide a QR code you can use immediately. Accepted forms of payment.

Indoor Chalet Policies

These exist so as many guests as possible have a good visit.

  • Personal items. Bags, shoes, boots, coolers and containers may not be stored at tables, on tables, under tables, on the floor, or around any seating area while you are on the hill. Use a seasonal locker, a daily paid locker, or a cubby and coat hook area. There are cubby areas on both the first and second floors of the Main Chalet. If those are full, keep items in your vehicle. Staff may move unattended items to a designated location.
  • Carry-on food is allowed in designated areas only. Keep it to a minimum on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holiday hours, when tables are reserved for guests purchasing Welch Village food and beverage. Keep large containers in or at your vehicle.
  • No group food tables. Setting up food or snack tables for other guests is not allowed at any time, including weekdays.
  • Table time limits. Reserving or guarding tables for more than 30 minutes is not allowed, and there is a 30 minute limit per table on weekends and holiday hours.
  • Fire code. Crock pots, hot plates, and electric coffee or hot chocolate pots are not allowed in our buildings.
  • No carry-on alcohol anywhere on Welch Village property, including all parking areas, per Minnesota Statute 340A.512.

Food & Beverage

Food service and Jaxx hours are listed on the Hours page and are shorter than lift hours. All food and beverage operations are cashless.

Lessons

All lesson programs are purchased in advance and online. The vast majority run on weekends and during holiday hours only. See lesson programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Three things, all online and all in advance: buy your lift ticket, reserve a ski rental package if you need gear, and complete your release of liability. Welch Village does not sell lift tickets or ski rentals at the window, and no one loads a lift without a signed release on file.

No. Welch Village has been fully cashless since November 2023. Credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted everywhere on the property, and e-gift cards purchased online can be used right away. Cash is not accepted anywhere on site.

Carry-on food is allowed in designated areas only, and on weekends and holidays Welch Village asks that you keep it minimal and leave large containers in your vehicle. Group food setups are not permitted, and crock pots, hot plates and electric coffee pots are prohibited under fire code.

Use a seasonal locker, a paid daily locker or the cubby areas on the first and second floors of the chalet. Bags, boots and coolers cannot be left at tables while you are on the hill, and a 30-minute table limit is in effect on weekends and holidays.
